The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 could be even more powerful than the Galaxy S22 Ultra

We haven't seen a lot of exciting things in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 leaks just yet, with information available that suggests it will be very similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. But finally, we've seen something that might make it worth upgrading.

Leaker @UniverseIce spotted a Geekbench benchmark listing for the phone, and it packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chipset.

It's a chipset that hasn't been announced yet, but it's an upgrade to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which is currently used by most Android flagships, including the Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup in some regions.

If you get this chip, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 could be more powerful even than the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

And in regions like the UK, which arguably has a lesser Exynos 2200 chipset in the Galaxy S22 range, the upgrade will be even greater - Samsung generally uses the same chipset around the world for its foldable phones, we're sure, so expect the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus to be used all over the world.

That said, not every aspect of performance will be an improvement over the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, as the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is bundled here with 8GB of RAM. That's the same starting amount as the S22 Ultra, but while Samsung's flagship can hold up to 12GB, we may only see one RAM configuration on the Z Flip 4 based on the old format. .

It's also worth noting that while this benchmark is for the Galaxy Z Flip 4, we expect the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 to use the same chipset, so it's likely to be a very powerful phone too.

(*4*)Analysis. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 suddenly became interesting

We've been a bit behind on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 so far, as the design and screens would be more or less identical to the Z Flip 3. Slight camera and battery improvements were suggested, but nothing too big. exciting.

That left a potential price cut as the only really notable rumor we'd heard about the phone, as a lower price could really propel the foldable into the mainstream.

But if it's cheaper than the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and one of the most powerful phones of the year, then suddenly the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is a phone worth paying attention to.

Nothing we've heard about it has yet to be confirmed, so we'd take all of this with a pinch of salt; but it could end up being one of the most impressive Samsung phones of 2022.
