This Nintendo Switch Controller Shows A Side Of Sonic We Didn't Want To See

Gaming peripheral designer HORI has a new Sonic-themed Nintendo Switch Pro controller on the way. But while he might give Blue Hedgehog enthusiasts something new to get their hands on, his design raises some eyebrows.

First of all, the driver (first detected by Creative Block) is kind of awful. In a mix of blue and white stripes, there is an image of Sonic plastered in the middle on his right side, a Sonic logo plastered on his left hilt, a HORI logo in the center, and a dark macule on his right hilt. It's finished with a combination of blue and red buttons and analog sticks. Minimalism was not on the design agenda this time.

But what's most appealing is the unfortunate placement of the right analog stick relative to Sonic's crotch. With his right leg bent up and sticking out from his waist, the cane perched right on its end, and the two parts colored precisely the same shade of blue, your psyche is easily drawn to an area of Sonic's anatomy in which you prefer not to meditate. Although it's not that obvious at first glance, it's pretty hard not to see the outline of Sonic's unspeakables once underlined (sorry).

This isn't the only officially licensed Nintendo Switch Pro controller that HORI has released. He designed related gamepads with Mario, Yoshi and Princess Peach. There's also a Sonic-themed Split Pad Pro that sits in place of the Joy Cons next to the console's screen. Luckily, none of these designs include occasional hints of their characters' private areas.

The Nintendo Switch Pro Sonic Controller will launch on June XNUMX for €XNUMX, or around €XNUMX / AU$XNUMX. HORI will make international shipments. It's only been a few months since the new Sonic XNUMX movie hits theaters, so you won't have to wait long to get your hands on Sonic's gear.
