Google Docs now shows multiple words live, finally

Google Docs finally offers a feature that attracts publishers: an easily visible live word series and real-time updates as you type.

Until now, it was only possible to see the number of words in progress by diving into the Tools menu or pressing Ctrl + Shift + C or Command + Shift + C for Windows and MacOS, respectively. It was annoying and meant breaking concentration in half.

Now, Docs is about to become a complete word processor. Adding a number of live words may seem minimal, but it is extremely useful.

"We have heard that viewing this information was helpful for users working on documents that require a minimum or maximum word count," wrote a Google spokesperson in a 20-word statement from the United States. 39; obvious.

To enable it, select Tools> Number of words> Show number of words. Click the number of words to display additional information, such as the number of pages, the number of words in a highlighted block of text, and the number of characters (with or without spaces).

The Word

If you are a G Suite user, the number of words should appear very quickly at the bottom of the Google Docs window. Google has already started publishing it for users on the Quick Release Calendar, and it should start showing up for everyone else on September 23.

The company has yet to announce when Word Live accounts will release Google Docs users, but I hope it won't be long. We count the days.
