The Yahoo Mail flaw also destroyed emails from BT, Sky, and TalkTalk

Yahoo has restored its email service after a seven-hour outage, preventing users from sending or receiving messages.

The outage has also affected BT, Sky and TalkTalk customers, all of which use Yahoo Mail to power their messaging services.

The problems appear to have started around 7:00 am yesterday morning and continued at least at 14:30 pm, when Yahoo said that most of the problems had been resolved.

"Most of the services are online again," he says in a Tweet. "It is a technical problem that has affected our services. We are sorry for the inconvenience and we thank you for your patience while everything is restored."

Three hours later, the BT and Sky customer teams said they understood that the problem had been resolved.

"Yahoo! support teams confirmed that the service had been restored," Sky said. "Customers will now be able to access their Yahoo! email account."

"Yahoo has confirmed that most services are back online," BT added. "We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as your BT Yahoo email returns to normal."

Yahoo has been one of the pioneers of the World Wide Web, but its popularity has dropped dramatically in the last decade. It was bought by Verizon in 2017. However, its messaging service still controls millions of users who will have been bothered by this flaw.

LaComparacion Pro has contacted the company to ask for an explanation.
