Huawei P40 Pro hands-on images leak, key functionality we hoped for is missing

The Huawei P40 Pro would have a display that curves around all four edges of the phone, a design feature we've never seen before, but new hands-on images suggest it might look a bit simpler than expected. These images were shared by an official on Weibo (a Chinese social network), and although they were quickly removed, GSMArena saved the two photos. These images would pertain to the Huawei P40 Pro, but as we'll come back to later, there are plenty of other devices that look like, or could be.

However, we can still see the screen. The Huawei P40 Pro's screen appears to be slightly rounded at the edges, just like the Huawei P30 Pro, and there's also a punch-hole camera cutout at the top left of the screen, but the aforementioned full curved screen is missing. In fact, if it's the Huawei P40 Pro, it should look incredibly similar to a range of phones coming in 2020. The Samsung Galaxy S20, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, OnePlus 8 Pro, and other rumored 2020 smartphones are all set to have curved screens. with cropped cameras, and if this photographed phone really does not part, the Huawei P40 Pro looks unbelievably like all these other devices; in other words, it could be a pretty "standard" device. We anticipate the device to launch in March 2020, so stay tuned to TechRadar for the latest news.
