BT Security CEO leaves the company

BT Security CEO Mark Hughes will resign to take a "senior" position at another company, reports the FT. Hughes had spent 16 years at BT and will now oversee a transition period.

BT has confirmed that Worldpay co-CEO Philip Jansen will become its new managing director next year, ending the search for a successor to current boss Gavin Patterson.

Cell phone case maker Tech21 has appointed former sales and marketing manager Colin Woodward as its new CEO. Woodward has 20 years of experience in the technology industry, having previously worked for HTC and Sony.

Mansoor Hanif, a BT and EE alumnus, is Ofcom's new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), taking over from Steve Unger, who left the regulator in June. Hanif's new mandate will be to ensure that Ofcom's job is kept informed of the latest developments in network technology, having previously held the role of Head of Convergence at BT-EE.

Gigaclear's chief operating officer, Mike Surrey, was promoted to chief executive officer after Matthew Hare left. Hare, who founded the alternative network infrastructure builder, had been an ultra-fast broadband champion during his eight-year tenure.

Nick Read will become the new CEO of the Vodafone group in October, replacing Vittorio Colao, who has served for a long time and spent a decade in management. Read is the current CFO of Vodafone Group and was previously CEO of Vodafone UK.

Former Uber boss is O2's new chief digital and strategic officer

Jo Bertram has been appointed as the new digital and strategic manager for O2, reporting directly to CEO Mark Evans, reports the FT. Bertram was the head of Uber's Northern European business, but left last October. Since then, she has been an executive in residence at the EQT Ventures technology fund, a position she will hold once she joins O2 in April.

Andrew Taylor to be the new CEO of Gamma Communications

Andrew Taylor will take over as CEO of Gamma Communications in May following the retirement of former incumbent Bob Falconer. Taylor was previously CEO of Nomad Digital, which was acquired by Alstom in 2017, and prior to that, at Digicel, where he oversaw the company's fixed and mobile networks in the northern Caribbean.
