The Redmi 9, which is the fifth device in the Redmi 9 series, goes on sale in India today. The device will be available on Amazon and Mi.com. This is the first sale of the device since its launch in India last week. This is the first device from Xiaomi in India to run on MIUI 12 out of the box. The device will be available in two variants. The screen is certified by TUV Rheinland for low blue light and has a maximum brightness of 400 nits. Inside, the phone is powered by Mediatek Helio G35 SoC, an octa-core chipset clocked at 2,3 GHz. It comes with 4 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage. There is also a dedicated microSD card slot that supports memory expansion up to 512GB. The Redmi 9 features MediaTek's HyperEngine technology, which is supposed to enhance the gaming experience. As for the camera department, the Redmi 9 has a dual camera setup with various shooting modes. HAVE. You're looking at a 13MP primary camera tagged with a secondary 2MP depth sensor with an LED flash. On the front is a 5MP selfie camera with AI selfie mode. The camera app comes with a new on-device UI with support for portrait mode and pro mode. Also, to get the phone up and running, the device comes with a 5000 mAh battery. Fast charging is missing though and you'll have to make do with 10W charging via the micro USB port. It is also the first phone from Xiaomi in India to run on the latest MIUI 12 skin based on Android 10.
