OnePlus 10 Pro Extreme Edition makes the company's best phone even better

OnePlus 10 Pro Extreme Edition makes the company's best phone even better

The OnePlus 10 Pro has yet to be released in most of the world, but now a new version has been unveiled in China called the OnePlus 10 Pro Extreme Edition.

Don't get too excited though, because apparently being extreme just means coming in a new color and with more storage space. This version of the phone is available in Panda White, which means that the OnePlus 10 Pro is now being sold in three different color options: Black, Green, and White.

This white model has a ceramic finish and will be sold in a single storage and memory combination, with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. This latest spec is notable, as the phone had only 256GB of storage so far.

But aside from the new color and extra storage, the OnePlus 10 Pro Extreme Edition doesn't bring anything new to the table. The phone still comes with a 120-inch QHD+ 6,7Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and a 5000mAh battery with 80W charging, just like the standard OnePlus 10 Pro.

The phone also features a Samsung Galaxy S21-inspired ultra camera module that houses a triple-lens camera setup.

The new variant will start shipping from March 1 in China and is priced at CNY 5799 (about €915 / £670 / AU$1270). For reference, the top-end model before this one (which gives you half the storage) costs CNY 5299 (about £835 / £615 / AU$1160). So, unsurprisingly, the Extreme Edition is a bit more expensive.

Analysis: the global launch of the OnePlus 10 Pro

While the OnePlus 10 Pro has only been announced for China so far, we expect it to launch globally soon, with leaks pointing to March or April.

We expect the phone to go on sale in the US, UK, India and elsewhere, but probably not in Australia as OnePlus doesn't currently sell its phones there. It will also likely land alongside the standard OnePlus 10, which hasn't even been announced for China so far.

What we are not sure about is if this new OnePlus 10 Pro Extreme Edition will have a global launch or not, but we hope to find out soon.
