Microsoft Teams is about to get a lot more customizable

Microsoft Teams users will soon be able to add personal touches to their meeting experiences following the announcement of brand lobbies. The new feature will allow Teams users to customize the pre-meeting experience. "Admins will now be able to add a custom logo to the Teams experience, to display in the lobby and pre-meeting experience," the Microsoft 365 roadmap explains. "The logo will be displayed for meetings where the organizer has the Communications SKU." A few weeks ago, Microsoft announced a new Advanced Communications package in Teams, which includes advanced meeting customization features to give companies more control over their communications policies. Along with a custom meeting room, tools for monitoring, tracking, and analyzing user and device data have also been included.

About the brand

Microsoft Teams users have been asking for the chance to add a personal touch to the Teams experience since at least 2019. In addition to being useful for corporate branding, educators can include learning objectives that students can read before they start. a course, and companies can publish useful information, such as opening hours or price lists. Microsoft has confirmed that with meeting lobby customization comes the flexibility to use different branding across different departments of an organization. This is especially useful for large companies that do not want to present a uniform image. The Microsoft Advanced Communications feature is available as an add-on to any paid Microsoft 365 or Office 365 subscription. The Brand Lobbying feature is currently under development and is confirmed to roll out in March.
