Many British department stores have just relaxed their purchasing restrictions.

Due to the Covid shopping issues, many supermarkets have introduced shopping restrictions to prevent people from buying too much of certain items, thus ensuring more people get their share. However, it appears that many of these same supermarkets have removed certain restrictions. As reported by the BBC, some UK supermarkets, including Asda, Aldi, Morrisons and Waitrose, now allow you to buy more previously restricted items. Waitrose, for example, will no longer restrict how much fresh produce you can buy, as will Asda for fruit and vegetables, and Aldi will remove purchase limits for most items entirely, with only certain items like antibacterials and El Alcohol is still limited. Morrisons is a bit more coy about their changes, simply increasing the maximum number of items you can buy in restricted goods from three to four. This is ostensibly to encourage people to donate the extra produce to food banks, but whether this is a fairly rosy goal remains to be seen. Other supermarkets, at the time of writing, have not changed their purchase limits, so stores like Co-Op, Tesco, Sainsburys and Lidl are keeping their old rules. Still, even though most stores have long lines outside (especially in crowded areas), it can be difficult to buy what you need, no matter what the limits are. shopping That's why we've written a guide to online groceries and meal delivery services that have slots this week.
