Forget last month's model, Epson has a new 4K 120Hz laser projector and it's cheaper

Are you crazy about everything the Epson Pro Cinema LS12000 laser projector has to offer except its cost? Well, we've got some good news, in that most of its gaming-focused tech now finds its way into a cheaper laser projector from the exact same brand.

The Home Cinema LS11000 4K PRO-UHD (via Engadget) is another 4K laser projector from Epson that promises great image performance. Epsom claims you'll be able to get crisp, clean 4K visuals up to a 5-inch screen size, and those with a PS120 or Xbox Series X will be able to take full advantage of the free XNUMXHz refresh rate at this resolution.

On top of that, gamers can take advantage of the projector's fairly low input latency times. Epson assures that they will be under 20ms; So while esports pros are always going to want to go for a super-fast monitor, most of us won't appreciate any lag.

You'll also get support for HDR10, HLG, and HDR10+ (although Dolby Vision appears to be absent). However, this projector does offer Dolby Atmos compatibility, so combine it with some of the best soundbars and you've got a great home theater setup.

Costing €12000 / €XNUMX (about AU$XNUMX), you'll save €XNUMX compared to the Pro Cinema LSXNUMX, but not surprisingly, this model Cheaper has certain drawbacks.

here is the catch

For starters, the Home Cinema LS11000 is a bit dimmer than the LS12000, with just 000 lumens versus 1. It's probably not a definite factor, but one humiliation that may be more difficult to ignore is the contrast ratio, which ranges from 1:000 to 1:11000 if you choose the cheaper LS12000 over the LSXNUMX.

Contrast is essential to give images clarity and a more natural look. The lower contrast ratio of the Home Cinema LS11000 means that you will get less definition in the images it displays. That said, 1,200,000:1 is still pretty respectable, even if it's not the best.

We'll have to test both projectors for ourselves to see how they compare, but based on specs, Epsom's LS11000 4K laser home theater projector looks like a great option.

If you're looking for a new display for your gaming setup, you'll clearly want to check out this projector as well as more traditional options when it launches later this month in the US. If you're in the UK, the projector is already available on -line as EH-LS11000W.
