Nanoleaf hands-free lights could be smarter than Philips Hue

Forget TVs and game consoles, innovative smart home tech is all the rage at this year's CES, and we may have finally seen a new smart lighting solution to compete with the Philips range of lamps. Industry-leading Hue.

The best smart lights let you instantly change the mood in your home with the touch of a smartphone, and Philips Hue Color Ambiance has made its way to our selection of available smart lights since XNUMX. Now, however, Nanoleaf has improved your smart home. play. introducing an impressively intelligent lighting system, called the Sense+ Control family, at CES XNUMX.

Comprised of 3 products - the Sense+ Smart Light Switch, the Sense+ Wireless Light Switch and the Nala Learning Bridge - Nanoleaf's latest range eliminates the need to manually create schedules for your smart lights. Instead, the company claims its new setup can learn your routines to automatically adjust the brightness and hue of the lights already in your home.

"Over time, users are going to be able to have a really smart, hands-free experience with smart home lighting," Nanoleaf told CES, explaining that Nala refers to the brand's new Automation Learning Assistant (NALA). get it?), which will also find its way into existing Nanoleaf thread edge routers in the future.

Arriving in the second half of 3, all XNUMX devices in Nanoleaf's new Sense+ Control range are Matter and Thread compatible, meaning you can easily connect them to the rest of your smart home products. compatible.

At CES, Nanoleaf confirmed plans to make its Shapes, Elements, Canvas, and Lines lights compatible with Matter later this year as well. The former ranks third on our list of the best smart lights money can buy, so we expect Nanoleaf's old and new products to change the order of our list in the coming months.

On paper, if nothing else, Nanoleaf's new Sense+ Control setup seems to be even smarter than Philips Hue's high-end control models. The latter brand's free products require you to manually pick the time and days you want to machine the glitter, while Nanoleaf claims its Sense+ family will learn to do the same job over "over time."

Of course, we're going to have to prove that claim for ourselves once we get our hands on Nanoleaf's latest smart lighting solution later this year. It's also worth noting that Nanoleaf products don't typically offer the same level of brightness and vibrancy as their Philips Hue counterparts, despite having the same color phantom choices. So while Nanoleaf's Sense+ family doesn't include lamps, particularly, the jury is still out on how effective its automation is going to be in the real world.
