Sony recently launched the Sony Xperia 5 phone, but now it's back with another numbered phone, the Sony Xperia 8.
This latest entry in the increasingly confusing lineup features a 6.0-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, a mid-range Snapdragon 630 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a built-in memory card reader. microSD cards.
There's also a dual-lens rear camera, with 12MP f/1.8 and 8MP f/2.4 cameras, while on the front is an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera. Other features include a 2.760 mAh battery, water resistance (a feature especially missing from the Sony Xperia 10), and Android 9 Pie.
A little update
The Sony Xperia 8 looks a bit dated from a design point of view, with a large bezel above the screen, although it does at least have a metal frame and a glass back.
Overall, on paper this looks like a minor update to the Xperia 10 (although not necessarily the Sony Xperia 10 Plus, which has a larger screen and slightly higher chipset).
It is expected to ship in Japan at the end of October at a price of JPY54,000, which is equivalent to around €505 / €410 / AU$750, although there is no news about the launch of the phone outside of Japan; if it changes, we will leave.
