Lenovo's new devices seek to boost hybrid work

On the first day of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, ​​PC maker Lenovo announced a slew of new ThinkPads, IdeaPads and tablets, all aimed at better enabling remote and hybrid working.

The biggest product of the launch is the new ThinkPad X13, which is the first to be powered by the new Arm-designed Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 computing platform. The ultra-slim, fanless Windows 11 machine was designed with hybrid operation in mind, offering 28-hour battery life and 5G connectivity.

Lenovo also announced several upgrades to its ThinkPad lineup on the first day of MWC, including camera, speaker and connectivity upgrades for popular T-series laptops, and the new top-of-the-line Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 5.

Other new commercial products include a ThinkVision M14d USB-C ultra-mobile monitor and updates to Lenovo's mobile workstation lineup, with the new ThinkPad P16s and an update to the ThinkPad P14s Gen 3.

Lenovo also updated its line of detachable laptops and tablets aimed at workers and consumers who are constantly on the go. These include the IdeaPad Flex 5i and IdeaPad Flex 5 convertible laptops, a new 5-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 12i detachable laptop and the new IdeaPad Flex 5i, 3i and Duet 3 Chromebooks, as well as the third-party Lenovo Tab M10 Plus Android tablet. generation.

These new devices will be available to customers beginning in April.

Although a large portion of workers have had to adjust to hybrid and remote work arrangements in the past two years, 28% of workers still worry they don't have the right technology tools to support hybrid work, according to a study from PWC.
