Indian luxury electric car with more than 500 km of autonomy | The comparison
India is getting closer to the idea of electric vehicles, especially in the four-wheel drive space. Aiming to be a top pick in the emerging market, Bangalore-based Pravaig Dynamics has launched its first electric vehicle in India – the Extinction MK1. The startup had been developing the vehicle for over nine years to bring it to its current level. Although the car was not shown in action at the event, Pravaig has spoken at length about what it will look like when it hits the roads next year. For the foreseeable future, it will be exclusively available as a premium fleet service for B2B customers in Bangalore and Delhi, with optional driver services. No pricing information was shared at the event, but those interested in learning about the experience can do so by signing up at Defy.city.

(Image credit: Pravaig Dynamics) Pravaig claims the Extinction MK1 has a 5-star safety rating, a feature only a handful of cars in India can boast. For the first year, it has a production goal of 2.500 units. Like most electric vehicles, it offers a rather futuristic design with aerodynamic curves all around. The headlight and taillight are accompanied by single-strip LED daytime running lights. Big 17-inch wheels also allow for chopping. The luxury design also carries over to the interior of the Pravaig Extinction MK1. The rear seats, in particular, have large tray tables for working or eating, individual air vents, Thunderbolt charging ports, and 12-inch mirrors, as well as the ability to recline 165 degrees. The section is also separated from the front seats by glass for privacy. When it comes to entertainment, it will feature speakers from Devialet, which is well known for delivering some of the densest and loudest output. There will also be premium PM 2.5 air purifiers for the entire cabin. The battery, which is located on the floor of the car, has a density of 155Wh/kg. Only the top-end Tesla Model S P100D (160 Wh/kg) has a denser battery. With this, the Pravaig Extinction MK1 has a range of 504 km on a single charge. Fast charging is also supported, filling the car up to 80% in about 30 minutes. A 150KW motor allows it to have a power of 2400 Nm and acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 5,4 seconds. However, at its top speed of 106 km/h, the range will be less than 200 km. Precise timelines for vehicle production and service start-up were not mentioned. The company said there would be additional improvements over the unveiled concept, such as higher ground clearance, four doors instead of two, and a higher level of comfort.
