Apply for SA's First All-Digital Municipality Technology Accelerator

Akro Accelerate, a Cape Town-based accelerator, has launched a call for the first all-digital municipal technology accelerator. In partnership with Imvelo Ventures, they offer start-ups the chance to get mentorship and training, three of them selected to win Rand 100,000 in grants. They are specifically looking for new black businesses that come from townships, or live in townships or have a close connection to townships. This is taken seriously, and participants must sign an affidavit confirming this link. "We are here to help those innovative and/or technology startups that have big dreams and may not have the right access to the right help or the right network and we want to help you take the next step forward," the company said at the announcement call. The thirty selected start-ups will benefit from mentoring and insight into growing their business. Throughout the program, the best candidates are selected, and the top 10 start-ups have access to Akro experts for further product development assistance. The deadline for applications is August 21. Selected applicants will be notified beginning August 31.
