This was the meteoric success of the Apple AirPods, so perhaps it's not surprising that everyone else is releasing their own AirPod clones, even HTC. OnePlus could be next to join the party, with wireless earbuds that should now be called OnePlus Buds. That's according to series host Max J on Twitter, the same source who previously revealed that these wireless earbuds would be revealed to the world in July. Although nothing is official yet, rumors are increasing. The same tweet features another sketch of these OnePlus earbuds, with a charging case that looks a lot like a charging case for some Apple AirPods. An LED light seems visible on the front, probably to inform you about the charging status. Speculation about some truly wireless OnePlus earbuds has been swirling since at least last December, and July would make sense for a launch window: OnePlus will also be introducing a budget OnePlus 8 device very soon, likely called the OnePlus Z. < p lang="en" dir="ltr">pic.twitter.com/SXfWzzAfKJMay 23, 2020 We haven't heard too much about what to expect from the OnePlus headphones (as we call them now), but it's not hard to guess some of the features - Quick pairing with OnePlus phones, Google Assistant charging support, touch controls, etc. Given OnePlus' track record over the last six years in the smartphone market, we expect these headphones to be competitively priced, but perhaps not at a very low level that you could describe as budget. Price will be decisive in determining how attractive these wireless headphones are, as well as battery life, as well as standard considerations such as sound quality.
