Netflix has released first look images for Ratched, the One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest prequel series, where the titular character will be played by Sarah Paulson. Mildred Ratched (Paulson) is an asylum nurse in 1947, who wants to work at a mental hospital where unusual and alarming practices are performed on patients. Mildred tries to do the best she can, but the closer she gets to the heart of the mental health system and those who shape it, the more the dark side of her personality begins to emerge. In One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, both the Ken Kesey novel and the 1975 film starring Jack Nicholson, Nurse Ratched is cast as an extremely unpleasant instrument of a deeply flawed system, so it will be interesting to see if this series can deliver. a believable result.
