You can now get DaVinci Resolve on the App Store

Video editors on the go can breathe a sigh of relief: DaVinci Resolve for iPad has finally arrived on the App Store.

Announcing the launch on Twitter (opens in a new tab), Blackmagic Design, developers of the video editing software, said: “DaVinci Resolve for iPad is now available! Get the same color correction and editing tools used for Hollywood movies on iPad, plus Blackmagic Cloud multi-user collaboration, AI-powered Magic Masking, voice isolation, dialogue, and more.

“Its sleek, modern interface is quick to learn and easy for new users, yet powerful for professionals,” the App Store post breathlessly states. Like its desktop counterpart, the iPad edition is available for free with no restrictions. The one-time premium upgrade costs just under $100 / €100.

Free Video Editing on iPad

Long considered one of the best free video editing software, the iPad version mirrors the professional desktop editor nearly 1:1. It's a feat that hasn't even been matched by even Apple Final Cut Pro (although users can try Apple iMovie on iPad for an overly simplified experience).

With the decline of video editing software on the iPad, what is likely to appeal to many content creators, beyond the non-existent price, is the ability to create Hollywood-quality productions without a powerful video editing computer or computer. video editing laptop

Blackmagic Design's app-based editor works on iPad Pros running iPadOS 16 or later on an A12 Bionic chip or later. But, to get the most out of the tool, an M1 or M2 chip is recommended. The developers also note that older iPad models may be limited to HD, with memory limitations that could limit some features.

In our recent preview of DaVinci Resolve for iPad, we were impressed with the real-time color grading, multitrack audio, AI tools, and timeline editing tools. However, we ran into some bugs and issues during the beta version. I hope the video editing app has been fixed now that the general version is available.
