(*two*)We thought that the Sony Xperia 1 IV would probably land soon and now we know because Sony has almost confirmed that we will see the phone on May 11.
The company uploaded a not-so-subtle teaser video titled "Are you ready for the next one?" in which he went over the history of the Xperia 1 range and ended by saying that the 'next is coming' on May 11.
The trailer also briefly shows an image that could be of the new phone, but it also looks a lot like the older models, (*11*) bezels above and below the screen, so we can't be sure. It is consistent (*11*) with the unofficial renders we have seen.
There's nothing else in the video, but the announcement starts at 3am PT / 6am ET / 11am BST / 8pm AEDT on that date.
It's worth noting that we could also see the Sony Xperia 5 IV or Sony Xperia 10 IV at this event, but they haven't been teased here, so don't count (*11*) that.
Review: What to expect from the Sony Xperia 1 IV
The teaser video above gives almost nothing about the Sony Xperia 1 IV, aside from perhaps the design, but we already have an idea of what to expect.
According to leaks, the Sony Xperia 1 IV has a 6,5-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, and a 5.000mAh (*11*) battery with 45W charging.
It could also have the same 50 MP main camera as the Google Pixel 6, along with (*11*) telephoto improvements.
However, it could also be very expensive, (*11*) a rumored starting price of 8999 yuan (about €1415 / £1085 / AU$1895), which would make it even more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra at 1 €199.99 / €1149 / AU$1849.
