Xiaomi works on a Dimensity 1000+ smartphone
As more and more MediaTek-equipped smartphones hit the market, a famous Chinese tipster has suggested that Xiaomi might have a Dimensity 1000+ SoC in the pipeline. The news comes shortly after the Xiaomi Redmi sub-brand revealed the first set of Dimensity 820-powered phones called the Redmi 10X 5G. According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi runs on a smartphone with an LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. It is also the phone that will pack the Dimensity 1000+ 5G processor. Now it's been making noise for a while. When Xiaomi China President and Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing entered the scene of MediaTek's launch, he even fanned the flames even more. It should be noted that Xiaomi is trying to incorporate new technologies into its smartphones from the very beginning, it has not done the same with displays with a high refresh rate. The Mi 10 series is one of the few Xiaomi devices to have this feature, although Redmi actually brought a 120Hz display earlier with the Redmi K30.

(Image credit: Digital Chat Station (Weibo)) It could mean that the 144Hz display is probably the first Xiaomi gaming device. And the Dimensity 1000+ would fit the profile of such a gaming phone well, but this is just speculation on our part. MediaTek recently experienced a resurgence with its Dimensity series which is gaining popularity among Chinese manufacturers. Tensions between Huawei and the United States have only strengthened their cause this year. As a result, even Huawei has released some of MediaTek's Dimensity chipsets in its latest phones. That is why Xiaomi using one is not a far-fetched idea at all. But that's all we can guess right now on this mystery device. There has been a rumor lately that Xiaomi is also working on a Mi MIX 4 flagship. Interestingly, iQoo has just announced the iQoo Z1 which has the exact same processor and refresh rate as the Xiaomi phone.
