Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite release date, price, news, leaks and rumors
The Xiaomi Mi 11 was launched in early February, but we haven't seen skin or hair from any sibling like the Mi 11 Pro or Mi 11 Lite. However, we've heard leaks on both, so it looks like they're coming. As the champion of budget and mid-range phones, there's a good chance Xiaomi will launch an Mi 11 Lite – the brand has a huge list of affordable 5G phones, and they tend to be some of the most popular. Until the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is announced, we've rounded up everything we've heard about it so far, and you can find all of that information below. We also made a wish list of what we'd love to see on the phone.

Come to the point

Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite release date and price

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite didn't come with its 'vanilla' sibling on February 8, so we don't know when we'll see the budget phone. We probably won't see it until March at the earliest, as we imagine Xiaomi would want to give the Mi 11 space in the spotlight before other phones join in to grab some attention. A leak has suggested it's happening this month, but it's coming from a source with a mixed background, so take that with a pinch of salt. In terms of pricing, we haven't heard any specific leaks about it, but we can make a rough estimate given the brand's history with affordable flagship variants. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite costs €299 (around £400 / AU$540), and it's the company's lightest phone, so it's a good indicator of the price. see the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is coming.

News and Leaks

Two main sources have revealed the details of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite that we know so far. Digital Chat Station said the phone will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 755G chipset, which hasn't been released yet, but the name suggests it will be a mid-range 5G processor. The same source says that the phone will use a 64 MP main camera, with a secondary snapper that supports 5x optical zoom. Another leak from a less reputable vendor called The Pixel suggests that the phone will only support 4G and have a Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It's also likely to have a hole-punch selfie camera on top. the left of the screen. This source also suggests that the phone will have Snapdragon 732G processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. They claim that the phone will have a 65MP main camera backed up with 8MP and 5MP extras. Finally, some renderings of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite have leaked, and you can check them out below. They're from the Pixel leak we mentioned, so take them with a pinch of salt.

What we want to see

Here are some things that we want to see in the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite, including comparisons with other Xiaomi phones and new trends in the smartphone market.

1. A new design

We've seen some affordable Xiaomi phones recently that use a very similar design, with a circular rear camera bump - the Poco X3 NFC, Mi 10T Lite and Redmi Note 9T have all used it in recent months. To signal a new generation of flagship phones, we'd love to see Xiaomi find a new way to present its smartphones; maybe we can see a camera bump similar to the Mi 11, or something else entirely.

2. Good camera specs

If there's a common weakness in Xiaomi's affordable phones, it's that their cameras don't match up to others of a similar price. We frequently cite camera performance on the brand's cheaper phones as a negative in our reviews. We would like to see Xiaomi improve its cameras on the Mi 11 Lite. Perhaps instead of packing a bunch of unnecessary 2MP auxiliary cameras, it could aim for quality rather than quantity, with a better sensor in the main camera. Cheap Xiaomi phones rarely come with telephoto lenses, although they are important for magnified images, and the brand could do well to use such a tool.

3. A smaller design

Xiaomi is a bit of a stranger to compact phones, and hasn't released a single smartphone at any price point in years that could reasonably be classified as 'small'. Some people like small phones because they fit easily in a pocket or are used with one hand and often have maximum battery life. Perhaps the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite could be the brand's first compact phone in quite some time, ready to extend an olive branch to people who want mini phones.
