Xiaomi Black Shark 3, 3 Pro offers 65 W fast charging, three cameras and a magnetic connector

Black Shark 3 is expected to launch on March 3 in China, and the company shared plenty of teasers in the lead up to the official announcement. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared a video on Weibo with other trailers revealing some key aspects of the upcoming Xiaomi-backed Black Shark gaming phone. Interestingly, Jun's post hints at the existence of a Black Shark 3 Pro variant as well, which could mean we're eyeing two phone launches on March 3. The regular Black Shark 3 comes with a 4720mAh battery, while the "Pro" model has a 5000mAh battery capacity to boot. Both variants of the Black Shark 3 support 65W fast charging which Jun says will be able to charge the phone from 0% to 60% in 15 minutes. The post also reveals a two-cell design for the battery, as well as support for charging via a magnetic connector. In the poster shared on the social media platform, the charging time of Black Shark 3 is compared to IQOO 3, the latter reaching 2220 mAh in 15 minutes of 55W fast charging. The magnetic connector seems to solve a fairly common problem with gaming phones in that you can use the magnetic pin connector to charge the phone while simultaneously gaming. Whether this magnetic charging solution solves this problem without compromising ergonomics remains to be seen. Black Shark 3 was also spotted in AnTuTu Benchmark with a 90Hz refresh rate, a QHD+ (3120 x 1440 pixels) resolution display, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage and is powered by the top of the range Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. 865 with 5G support. It scored 612,651 points on AnTuTu, which is the highest score achieved by a smartphone. The Black Shark 3 turns out to be a high-end phone that leaves the doors open for other OEMs like Asus, Lenovo, and Nubia. We'll keep an eye out for more details ahead of launch.
