Xbox tests private messaging feature that blocks troll

A shoddy little discussion here and there when playing online can be a good part of a competitive atmosphere. But when it gets too personal, too aggressive, or offensive, it can kill the atmosphere. Starting today, Microsoft is addressing this issue on Xbox One with new content filters for private messages.

If you are an Xbox expert, the latest version of the Xbox user interface offers a new feature that allows you to add varying degrees of content control to the messages that arrive in your inbox.

Four filter levels are proposed: "easy to use" (defined by default for child accounts) vigorously checks for any hints of offensive words or phrases and blocks them; "Medium" blocks words that are known to be discriminatory; & # 39; & # 39 mature; hides only explicitly explicit words; & # 39; Unfiltered & # 39; means that everything is ready for the pot's mouth.

These settings can be changed to determine whether they are messages from known or unknown contacts, such as in message requests.

Although currently limited to Xbox Insider users, this feature will be available to all Xbox players, consoles, PC, and mobile devices by the end of the year.
