Xbox Series X Admission: Trailer, Release Date, Game Pass, and What We Know
Avowed is shaping up to be one of the best reasons to stick with the Xbox platform when the Xbox Series X and PS5 launch later this year. It is a new first-person medieval fantasy RPG developed by Obsidian, previously known for his work on The Outer Worlds, Fallout: New Vegas, and The New Grounded. While it was announced alongside a host of other Xbox Series X games on the Microsoft Store back in July, including our much-anticipated Fable reboot, Avowed might just be the most exciting thing to come out of the event. . While it seems to be the first time Obsidian has delved into a magical medieval era, the developer's close ties to Bethesda in the past mean that comparisons to The Elder Scrolls franchise are inevitable, especially since The Outer Worlds sticks so closely together. to the model featured in the Fallout games. However, there's plenty to pique our interest beyond just a Skyrim clone, including the game set in Eora, the Pillars of Eternity game world. Not to mention the powerful visuals possible on the next-generation Xbox Series X console. Here's everything we know about Avowed so far, including its first trailer, which platforms it's headed for, and when we anticipate its release.

Supported Trailer: See the game announcement here

The first Avowed trailer clearly sets the scene, with medieval battlements, burning arrows, and many war-torn landscapes beset by skeleton warriors. In the end, we briefly look at the player's perspective, showing a similar first-person view and the ability to wield a sword in one hand and cast rune-based spells in the other. Until now, so Skyrim.

Licensed on Xbox Series X release date

There's no authorized release date yet, but with another Obsidian (Grounded) game releasing in 2020, we don't expect to see this game hit shelves until at least late 2021, if not later. By comparison, Elder Scrolls 6 was first announced in 2018 and doesn't have a confirmed release date yet, but we still expect Obsidian to beat Bethesda because it works first. in Starfield

Authorized platforms: Xbox, PC, Game Pass

Declared will be exclusive to the Xbox console. This means it will likely launch on Windows 10 PC and Xbox Series X. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass, as with all proprietary Microsoft games. Now that Microsoft has acquired Obsidian, we won't see the game coming to PS5 even if The Outer Worlds has landed on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. Today's best Xbox Game Pass deals

Yes, recognized as Skyrim

It's a testament to the influence and legacy of The Elder Scrolls franchise that Avowed's first-person fantasy epic can only be compared to Skyrim. But Obsidian is starting to make Bethesda contenders a staple of its output, having released the sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds that many seemed to get a galactic animated twist on in Fallout, also shortly after Bethesda announced yours. Space RPG called Starfield. Starfield is nowhere to be found, but it's almost certainly a next-gen title. With Fallout 76 losing a lot of goodwill among longtime fans of Bethesda and Obsidian, seemingly capable of infusing an old RPG model with plenty of fun new ideas, Avowed could be a continuation of Obsidian's dominance over its former business partners (who developed Fallout: New Vegas in 2010). Either way, we're excited to see what Obsidian brings to the table, even as he approaches Skyrim in its mix of magical combat and epic open-world quests.

Declared takes place in the world of Pillars Of Eternity

The comparisons don't stop at Skyrim for this medieval fantasy RPG. Stated will actually take place on Eora, the same world used in the Pillars of Eternity games, both of which are developed by Obsidian. Avowed will adopt a first-person perspective, of course, instead of POE's isometric perspective, so we imagine the game will be quite different from its predecessors. We hope that fans of POE games will recognize elements of the world for sure. However, Pillars of Eternity focused primarily on the nation of Dyrwood, so we got to see Avowed exploring a different nation, continent, or part of the world that we've never seen before. What's also new here is that POE games were a first for PC, despite 2015's Pillars of Eternity and 2018's sequel Deadfire coming to current-gen consoles a few years after their release date. initial. Being announced on an Xbox stream, for release on PC, Xbox, and Game Pass, confirms just how different that experience will be. Expect a very user friendly RPG.
