Xbox Game Pass is adding a modern classic RPG this month

The latest batch of games coming to Xbox Game Pass has been announced, and there are some big names among them.

The most compelling game in the new Xbox Game Pass lineup is Torment: Tides of Numenera. It is the spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment that harks back to the early days of isometric RPGs. Expect a character-rich story, lots of tough decisions to make, and a quirky world of science and fantasy. It's not often that games like this come to console, but between the Tides of Numenera, the Wasteland series, and the original Fallout, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers are spoiled for choice.

Microsoft also announced (opens in a new tab) that the acclaimed puzzle-platformer Inside is coming to the service. The minimalist platformer from the same creator as Limbo is arguably one of the best released in the last decade. Its atmosphere is sinister, its masterful rhythm and its unforgettable ending. Just a few hours away, you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't play this one.

Watch Dogs 2, Ubisoft's open-world hackathon, is also coming to the platform, letting you hack your way through drones, cars, and public infrastructure in the San Francisco Bay Area. While the sequel didn't receive rave reviews, it does feature all of the core features that made Ubisoft's open-world adventures so popular.

A slim but solid selection.

Also on the list is As Dusk Falls, a new interactive adventure set to release for Microsoft's subscription platform on launch day. Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation will also boost the Xbox Game Pass RTS roster, while MotoGP 22 will have you burning rubber in an authentic motorcycle simulator.

Here are all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in late July:

Touch controls have also been added for a host of games, including the text-based indie hit Citizen Sleeper and Yakuza 0. That means you'll be able to play them on your phone using Xbox Cloud Gaming.

But as new titles appear, others disappear. You'll have to say goodbye to Katamari Damacy Reroll on July 31, so make sure you get your Cosmic Binding before it's gone.
