Amazon Prime Day is fast approaching and is scheduled to take place June 21-22. Fitness technology has always cut sales drastically, and if you're thinking about getting a new Fitbit, now is a great time to take the plunge. To avoid overspending on sales events, it's a good idea to plan your purchases in advance. However, it is important to note that not all offers are what they seem at first glance. Even new Fitbits get a discount
During Black Friday 2020, we saw that Amazon had no qualms about lowering the prices of new fitness trackers. Back in November, the Fitbit Sense was only a few weeks old, but Amazon still dropped its UK price by £30.99. The Sense also hit its lowest price ever in the US on Black Friday, and has since hovered around $250, so it's about to get another price cut. The Fitbit Versa 3 saw a modest price drop for Black Friday, though it's also new, just like the Fitbit Inspire 2. Now that both devices are more established and generally available for less than retail price. for Prime Day 2021. The Fitbit Ace 3 kids' fitness tracker (with new games to keep your little ones active) launched in March, and Amazon has already started to nibble on its sticker price a bit, so we think it's You'll likely get your first big Prime Day discount, too.

Older devices benefit from even greater price reductions
Older generation Fitbit devices, including the Fitbit Versa 2, Fitbit Inspire HR, and Fitbit Ace 2, are great activity trackers that are compatible with the Fitbit app and are a good investment if you don't need them. and whistles.

On Black Friday 2020, Amazon took £70 off the Versa 2 in the UK and £30 off the Inspire and Inspire HR, and prices could be even lower this time around. Just be aware of the limitations of these older generation models. For example, the Versa 2 doesn't have GPS onboard, which means you'll have to bring your phone to track your route on runs, hikes, and bikes. The Fitbit Inspire and Inspire HR don't have the stress tracking tools you'll find on the Inspire 2, and they don't offer guided breathing sessions.
Pay attention to packages
Now that Fitbit is owned by Google, we might see some great bundles that contain both a fitness tracker and a Google smart speaker, saving you a lot of money compared to buying both separately. In the UK, Currys already offers a Fitbit Inspire 2 paired with a Google Nest Mini, and Amazon may be going the same route, pairing Fitbits with a suitable speaker.

Competitors have their own events
Over the years, Prime Day has become something of a mini Black Friday, so it might be possible to get a good deal on a Fitbit from a competitor's website. Prime Day is a somewhat unusual situation when it comes to prize alignment, as special offers are not available for subscribers, which means that other magazines that generally correspond to their prizes cannot feel obligated to do it. However, this does not prevent some competing stores from running their own offers to coincide with Amazon's offers. For example, Walmart will have a Deals for Days event from June 20-23, which overlaps with Prime Day. It has the full range of Fitbits, so we'll be on the lookout for any big deals that undercut Amazon's offerings.

It also offers the entire Fitbit line and its prices are already similar to Amazon's, so this will be another one to look out for when the deals start. We don't yet know which UK retailers will be doing their own competing sales, but Currys is known to have taken the lead in previous years. It has a good range of Fitbit devices in stock (plus the Fitbit Luxe for pre-orders), so we'll be watching their prices closely.
