We've all experienced it: You open a phone bill and make a face at the numbers, but it doesn't have to be that way. TPG has cut the price of its prepaid phone deals, giving you a decent amount of data for half the price. New customers can now benefit from a 50% reduction on their first six months with TPG. For most users, the most advantageous option is probably the 25GB data plan, which will cost you just AU$15 for the first half, before going back to AU$30. For those who don't really need 25GB, you can get pretty much the same plan, but with 14GB of data instead for AU$12.50 per month, doubling again after the initial six-month period. If you need a little more data to play, there's also the option of 30GB for AU$20, or for the basics, you can go for 6GB of data for AU$10 each month. Even if the price of each package will double after the first six months, it is still reasonable and will save you a lot. Each prepaid plan also includes unlimited calls and SMS to standard national numbers, and the 30 GB option includes 100 international minutes included. If you use up all your data before the end of the month, you can get an extra 2GB for AU$10. A prepaid plan may be right for you if you're looking to manage your budget, or if you're looking for a no-strings-attached plan. You'll need to bring your own phone to TPG, though: you may have bought a new device right away, or more likely, paid for a mobile phone with your current carrier and don't want an expensive upgrade just yet.
