The popular video sharing platform TikTok is coming to your Fire TV devices. If you live in the UK, France, or Germany, you'll be able to watch TikTok content through your Amazon streaming stick, letting you easily enjoy your favorite authors on your home theater screen. TikTok users on TV will appreciate many similarities and some changes compared to the mobile app. First, your frequent "To" and "To Follow" feeds will be preserved, making it easier for you to see exactly the same content as you would on your phone. New options like the "Discover" page will let you find and watch curated trending videos that the app advises, making it easier for you to find new ways to entertain yourself on TikTok. However, if you don't have a streaming device, you may still be in luck. TikTok will also launch on Samsung Smart TV, Google TV, and Android TV. If your smart TV runs one of these operating systems, you'll also be able to enjoy your favorite short videos on the big screen.
How will TikTok be seen on TV?
TikTok videos are designed to be viewed on your phone when held vertically. So unless you have a swivel Samsung Sero, you're probably wondering how these are going to translate on your horizontally displayed TV. From what we've seen, you're not about to deal with extremely cropped content, as all vertical video will be visible on the screen. It also looks like there won't be a jaded black mailbox on either side either, as the image below seems to show. Instead, you'll likely be up against a puny bottom based on the central video.
