The iPad Pro 11 (2022) and iPad Pro 12.9 (2022) might not be the only things Apple is about to announce, as leaks suggest we'll also see a new standard iPad (2022), so there could be new options in both. extremes of Apple's tablet lineup.

Also, we're still waiting for the final release of iPadOS 16, or rather iPadOS 16.1, as Apple is jumping right into that for the final release. Leaks suggest that it will land in October, and it would make sense to announce it alongside the new hardware.

Of course, the actual ship date of these new top iPad contenders and the availability of iPadOS 16.1 could come a bit later, but at least, we might as well get those dates soon. Don't expect much from this: leaks suggest that today's announcement, if it happens in the next few hours, will come via a press release.
