This PS5 and Xbox Series X NBA 2K21 trailer shows the true power of the next generation
The new trailer for NBA 2K21 is a preview of the next-generation computing power of Xbox Series X and PS5. The annual sports outings don't change much from year to year, but the next-gen upgrades will help them take a truly huge step forward. Beyond the stunning photorealism, the sheer number of realistic fans, coaches, cheerleaders, mascots, and referees rendered in a single shot without a drop in frame rate shows that the new generation sports games could feel more alive and real than ever. The release date of NBA 2K21 will be November 10 for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, November 12 for PS5 owners in select countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and November 19 for owners of PS5 around the world. While it's not essential to enjoying the game, it does add a cool vibe. The trailer does not show perfect gameplay. Close-ups of the players' sweaty faces look excellent (Curry's crude mouthguard chewing off to the side), but in the rare zoomed-out images, players move or stop unrealistically, as if the models of the characters couldn't keep up. And the moves are just like we've seen in previous games. That said, 2K Games sells some major differences beyond the graphics it attributes to the power of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. It claims to have added "new on-field collision and animation engines," "lighting, textures, and physics," a new Rail Cam and an "expanded soundtrack with 202 songs at launch", You can pre-order NBA 2K21 for PS5 and NBA 2K21 for Xbox Series X now for €69.99 in the US.
