HBO launched The Last of Us TV show, which promises to bring the critically acclaimed Naughty Dog video game series to the network. Series creator Neil Druckmann is ensuring that the television adaptation of The Last of Us does not disappoint and will serve as writer and executive producer. He is joined by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Carolyn Strauss, who produced this little-known show called Game of Thrones, as well as the truly haunting Chernobyl. Naughty Dog's Evan Wells and PlayStation Productions' Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan are also involved, so the series will stay true to multi-million selling PS4 games. The synopsis says that “the story takes place twenty years after the destruction of modern civilization. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to get 14-year-old Ellie out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts out as a small job soon turns into a brutal and harrowing journey as they both have to cross the United States and depend on each other for survival.

The Last of Us TV show will be available on HBO and will stream on HBO Max, and it's sure to be a gritty, violent, and emotional affair, if the game is anything to go by. The video game television adaptation of Naughty's dog joins a growing list, with Halo and Assassin's Creed both online to receive TV shows. However, it remains to be seen if they will be any good.
