The Only Prime Day Deals I Bought This Year Were These Cost Of Living Deals

You've probably seen a lot of Prime Day deals this year that seem a bit silly: sure, a new low price on an iPad is nice, but if it's still a four-figure sum, what's the point? Similarly, massive discounts on devices you don't really need in your life can seem a bit redundant.

That's why for Prime Day 2022 deals I've been hesitant to spend money on anything - who's got money to drop on random gadgets designed to do things we can do sin ellos?

No, better save my money for essentials like food and toiletries instead of sending it to Amazon. Or so I thought, but I realized that I could do both.

It turns out that Amazon sells a lot of products that you really need to survive. As a friend pointed out to me, not only can you buy items like shower gel or toilet paper from the online store, but you can also buy them in bulk packs at a discount.

However, during Prime Day, these bulk packs, which already offer a discount when you buy them, also saw plenty of Prime Day deals. I see 40% or 50% off some really useful everyday items, which makes the prices much lower than if I had to pick them up at my local store.

So in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis, there are smart ways to save money in the long run. No, I don't mean robotic vacuum cleaners, monster coffee machines, or expensive video game machines; no, I mean cleaning rollers and shower gel.

An example of something I bought right away was toilet paper - if you search for it in bulk, you can easily find it at very low prices. Obviously the more you buy the cheaper it is per roll, but even buying two packs of 9 helped me save money. Just make sure you have enough space to store everything!

For the price of a pint, I now have enough swamp to weather the apocalypse. Or invent the whole of Windsor Castle.

Another thing I made sure to add to my list was shower gel - if you're like me, you usually buy a new bottle when the last one dries up. But Amazon has plenty of 4- and 6-packs on popular brands, usually at slightly lower prices than you would have bought on your own.

Throw in a Prime Day deal on top of that, and you've got plenty of washes for one low price. I even used the savings to buy a fancier shower gel for a date.

Something a friend made sure to add to my list was coffee - instant coffee and real coffee can be bought in bulk to save money, and there are quite a few deals on that (though oddly more in the UK than the US). USA) .

These weren't the only items bought in bulk on Amazon, they weren't even the only ones on my shopping list, but sadly I'm broke. So here are some tips I would give to find your own matching offers.

How to buy essentials on Amazon

  • Make sure look for "in bulk" next to your product - this way you make sure you get the multiple packs you already have saved. So 'bulk shower gel' will let you find better discounts.
  • Remember stick to the brands you know - When looking for products in bulk, it's easy to find some from random cheap brands that you may not have heard of before. Sure, even the lowest prices can seem tempting, but you don't want to buy large quantities of something if you don't know how good it will be.
  • Only buy things you have storage space for - There's no point in buying 200 boxes of toilet paper if you don't have your own warehouse to store it, so be modest with your spending.
  • Avoid products that require their own tricks. (unless you actually own them) - sure, coffee pods sound delicious, but when you factor in the price of a coffee machine that runs them, you end up wasting money together. And you don't have to save a lot of money on dishwasher tablets if you wash all your dishes by hand.
