The Nvidia RTX 3060 series is renewed with Colorful in a new release

Nvidia has had a tumultuous few months, releasing and re-releasing graphics cards in a very short time. We were surprised by the high price of the RTX 4090 graphics cards and the craze that followed the launch, and a bit taken aback by the spectacular launch of the RTX 4080 12GB.

But! While the RTX 4090 is having its ups and downs, Nvidia has gone back to the previous generation and released new versions, with Colorful releasing four RTX 3060 8GB cards and four RTX 3060 Ti GDDR6X models, updating the old GPU lineup. The UK and US websites don't yet have all the different variants listed on the official China website, but we expect them to leak soon.

There is not much difference between the old model and the new one. The updated 3060 GB RTX 8 has a reduced memory bus (up to 128-bit) and a capacity of 8 GB. The newly released Colorful variants seem to have new names like "Battle Ax Deluxe" or a pretty cute and colorful chassis (get it, from Colorful for what it's colorful for). The RTX 3060 Ti cards are featured with GDDR6DX memory, with a similar lineup to previous variants, except for the addition of Colorful in the iGame Vulcan OC.

In terms of price, the 8GB graphics card models will be cheaper than the 12GB, with the cheapest RTX 3060 GPU coming in at $330 (around $290 or AU$520) and the lowest price coming in at $365. (around €320 or AU €560). These are considerably cheaper than expected and certainly more affordable than the RTX 4090.

Analysis: Grateful for good prices at last

Considering the RTX 4090's massive price tag, it's refreshing to see budget GPU options being upgraded instead of being passed over in favor of more expensive models.

These new editions would be ideal for those of us who are still looking for a solid GPU that can handle modern games without breaking the bank, or new PC gamers who don't want to spend too much money while still getting their bearings. .

Hopefully, we'll see more variants of the new RTX 3060 and 3060 Ti that continue the reasonable price trend.
