The next Star Wars Disney Plus show has been delayed, but not by much

Andor, the next Star Wars TV series set to premiere on Disney Plus has been delayed, but only by a few weeks.

The Disney Plus show, which was originally scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, August 31, has been pushed back three weeks. Now, Andor will be released on the streaming service on September 21. Disney and Lucasfilm haven't explained why the Star Wars prequel series has been moved up a few weeks, but we've asked for clarification and will update this article if we hear back.

Regardless, the announcement was made during Andor's latest trailer, which dropped on Monday, August 1. The trailer also confirmed that Andor would launch on Disney Plus with an unprecedented three-episode premiere, the first time a Disney Plus series has done so. .

Take a look at the official trailer for Andor below:

Disney Plus shows typically only get a premiere or two episodes when they launch. The fact that Andor launches with three episodes, therefore, marks a significant departure from Disney's usual broadcast schedule.

However, it is likely that this decision was made due to the length of the Andor episode. The show's first season will be 12 episodes long, which is twice as long as most other Star Wars and Marvel TV projects released on Disney's streaming platform. With more big-budget productions set to debut on Disney Plus before the end of the year, it looks like Disney is looking to get more Andor in front of viewers' eyes as soon as possible.
