Upcoming PS5 game God of War: Ragnarok could also come to PC
God of War: Ragnarok may also benefit from PC port processing, following the recent God of War port reveal. We should say this is a tentative rumor for now, so approach it with caution, but the theory is that God of War: Ragnarok, the sequel to God of War will debut on Sony's PS5 (and PS4) in 2022, may eventually find its way to the PC platform as well, or at least that's a possibility based on a hint discovered on LinkedIn. This hint comes courtesy of GameRant, who retrieved a Twitter user who saw the profile of a senior programmer at Jetpack Interactive, Warren Lee, who has a project billed as "God of War Ragnarok." Now, that could just be a bug, and the programmer may have accidentally added the 'Ragnarok' bit unintentionally, when in fact Lee is currently working on God of War PC. Of course, Jetpack is the third-party developer in charge of the current God of War port, as Sony has just clarified, with Sony's Santa Monica Studio in the role of overseeing the project, rather than making the port.

Analysis: there may be something there, but don't bet on it

So it's unclear if this is just an accidental typo or a hint that Jetpack will not only port God of War, but the Ragnarok sequel as well, for the PC platform. To be fair, we think the reality is that this could be wrong. However, with God of War finally getting a port, it makes sense that Ragnarok could get the same treatment. The caveat is, of course, that it would probably end up happening, in the future, rather than early in Ragnarok's lifetime. Keep in mind that God of War released for PS4 in 2018, so it took a while for the port to come to fruition. Sony has, of course, indicated that more PC ports will be in the works, but they probably won't come anywhere near their respective PlayStation-exclusive releases. And indeed, that makes sense in terms of the tactic of letting PC gamers play God of War early next year, for example, and then perhaps considering a PS5 to launch the Ragnarok sequel when it comes out in late 2022. It should be noted that there's been some controversy over which PC port of God of War Jetpack has been given, and questions about whether this could affect its quality, especially given recent experience with the conversion. Initially unstable Horizon Zero Dawn PC. However, things are looking much better with this latest game. Some of the concerns expressed online stem from the fact that Jetpack has played a supporting role in PC conversion work in the past, and it's obviously a big project to take on. But with Sony Santa Monica watching, I hope any concerns about quality prove unfounded, and what could be one of the best PS5 games will affect the best PC games as well.
