Sony's ``secret'' studio in San Diego is apparently working on existing PlayStation franchises, fueling rumors that a new Uncharted game may be in the works. The rumors flared further when Michael Mumbauer, a former studio manager and senior director of visual arts at PlayStation World Wide Studios, updated his LinkedIn profile to say that he has built an "all-new action development/AAA adventure all-star team for Playstation" based in San Diego. This new studio will "use proprietary engine technology" and has been assembled to "expand existing franchises and create entirely new stories for the next generation of gamers" (via Wfftech). Considering Mambauer's previous work on the Uncharted series and the studio's description of working on "action/adventure" titles, it's speculated that this means the team could be working on a new Uncharted game. Although, of course, this is still a rumor. Since Nathan Drake's story was well tied to the ending of Uncharted 4, it would be more likely that we'd see this PlayStation San Diego studio working on standalone titles within the franchise in a similar vein to Uncharted: The. Lost Legacy, in which Chloe and Nadine play the main roles.
