The new Apple iPhone 14 will arrive early this year according to the main leaker

This year's Apple iPhone 14 will arrive earlier than last year, according to Mark Gurman, the most accurate Apple leaker on the planet, and picked up by friends at The Verge (opens in a new tab). While the iPhone 13 made its appearance in late September, the new Apple iPhone 14 will appear just after the Labor Day holiday in the United States at an event on September 7. The phone will go on sale a week from next Friday, September 16.

Apple is expected to go big with this year's iPhone launch, which means the new model will be a big-screen phone and not an update to the Apple iPhone 13 mini. Rumors suggest that Apple will launch an Apple iPhone 14 and a large-screen iPhone 14 Max.

A separate "Pro" class will see further upgrades to processing, camera, and other features: Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Phones without the "Pro" designation should remain on last year's Apple A15 Bionic chip. If an updated A16 chip is announced, it can only be used in these "Pro" devices.

Analysis: A good sign of a good offer

Last year's phone launch came a bit later in September, but could have been delayed further due to supply chain issues. We've seen several phone launches later this summer and heard few complaints about supply issues. Although the Apple iPhone 14 will only launch about a week earlier than last year, we still see this as a good sign that the industry is finding a balance to supply consumers without raising prices or causing major delays.
