1.Cyberpunk 2077

Announced before The Witcher 3 was released to become an instant classic, Cyberpunk 2077 was a long time coming. Polish studio CD Projekt's latest creation, however, couldn't be more different from their Witcher series, as it takes place in a metallic neon future city. You play as V, a cybernetically enhanced mercenary left for dead by strangers to be guided by nothing less than a Keanu Reeves hologram to find your attackers. Night City is a sprawling metropolis filled with deviants, crime, and opportunity. It appears to be the most densely populated open world city ever created, offering unlimited freedom in how you choose to navigate.

2. Half-life: Alyx

There are a growing number of games that are finally harnessing the potential of VR, but the technology so far hasn't had a real selling headline for the system. Taking place just before the events of the second game, this Half-life prequel may not be Half-life 3, but for VR, it could be just as pivotal. Half-life: Alyx isn't a tech demo either. It will be a full 15-hour shooter, set in and around the iconic City 17, the communist-style city ruled by the tyrannical intergalactic species known as the Combine. Oh, and it'll have gravity gloves, which is probably the most exciting video game weapon revealed since the gravity gun in Half-life 2.

3 Elden Ring

We don't know much about Elden Ring yet, but what little we do know is that this is a dark fantasy action-RPG written by George RR Martin, developed by From Software, and led by Dark Souls mastermind Hidetaka Miyazaki, enough to turn the place squarely at the top of our “Most Searched People” list for 2020. There's other information that tickles our emotion sensors, too. This will be From Software's first true open-world game, filled with dark visuals and a tasteful fusion of fantastic Eastern and Western visuals based on what we saw on the film. advertisement. A close-up of some of the best fantasy creators of this century who will likely retain a penchant for From to ruthlessly challenge the player.

4. Resident Evil 3 Remake

Shortly after the Resident Evil 2 remake came out and wooed us with its mix of nostalgic comeback and decidedly modern design, it was announced. The original Resident Evil 3 was renowned for its action more than its predecessor, as you battle your way through zombie-infested Raccoon City while running from the persistent threat that was Nemesis. With the Resident Evil 3 Remake, expect zombie mayhem mixed suspenseful with B-movie nonsense, an intriguing new multiplayer mode, and an ``unleashed'' Nemesis, who will be guided through large parts of the game by you. game as you try to prevent zombies from biting into the tendons in your ankles. It's unlikely to be as big a deal as its predecessor, but it's a polite pursuit of the series in recent years. This makes it one of our most anticipated PC games in 2020.

5. Crusader kings III

Like its predecessor, Crusader Kings III lets you play a nobleman from various positions in an accurate recreation of the medieval world, be it a cunning duke in southern England, a Viking raider looking to set up a farm, or the head of a vast Islamic caliphate. It's a complex game of politics, backstabbing, and power grabbing, and it'll be fascinating to see it expanded and improved on a modern engine.

6. Eternal DOOM

Doom's 2016 re-imagining was the best thing to happen to the hell-bent sniper-killer series since, well, the original Doom itself. He managed to recall the pace and ferocity of the original games while introducing brilliant new mechanics; from the vicious glory that kills, that gave you health, to the jump pads that sent you cocodemonic. Doom Eternal builds on these new foundations, adding things like grappling hooks capable of unfocusing demons, the returning Super Shotgun from Doom 2, and improved multiplayer. It will be a harrowing break on Mars, the moon of Phobos, and in hell and back.

7. Baldur's Gate 3

Young gamers today can mix RPGs with Skyrim and The Witcher, but it was Baldur's Gate that really set the bar for how deep and extensive that game could be. It was a master class in storytelling, as it brought together a group of great personalities who faced off and chatted with each other, and tried to chain them into their own adventures. Baldur's Gate 3 is developed by Larian Studios, the group behind the excellent Divinity: Original Sin games. The studio will have to embark on its whimsical tendencies through the darker world of Baldur's Gate, but Divinity's great combat and cooperation systems should integrate brilliantly into this legendary saga.

8. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

One of the most flawed yet brilliant RPGs ever released on PC gets a sequel. Set in modern-day Seattle, yet populated by vampires, werewolves, and other nocturnal creatures, Bloodlines 2 embodies you as a human recently turned vampire. The type of vampire you choose to play will greatly affect your experience as you roam the streets of Seattle in search of blood and the answers to how you became who you are. Will you be a hideous Nosferatu attacked on sight in the streets, a high-flying Ventrue, or a suave and handsome Toreador? Expect deep decision-making, gory abilities, and a delightfully dark city to revel in.

9. Dying Light 2

The original Dying Light remains a high benchmark of the zombie apocalypse genre. The parkour mechanics gave it a great sense of fluidity when demarcating between rooftops, and online co-op is one of the best ways to play with your friends. It took place in an intense and violent open world that always felt threatening. But its story leaves a lot to be desired, which is why Chris Avellone (Fallout: New Vegas, Baldur's Gate) was brought in to write the sequel. The game world will adapt to the choices you make, and the zombies will, of course, still be the ravenous, voracious menace we know originated from the original. Where the first game was one of the surprise hits of the previous decade, expectations are high for this one.

10. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

There is something distinctly "PC gaming" to the Mount & Blade series. It's heavily systems-based, as you strategically build a feudal kingdom, defend and expand it, plan large-scale battles, and then fight yourself in first-person. There's a lot going on in these games, so it's no surprise that developer TaleWorlds took its time (eight or more) with the sequel. Bannerlord will offer more detailed dialogue and political systems, a large number of factions, and the ability to have children, which will succeed your character upon death.
