The hottest comparison at IFA 2020 prices
IFA 2020 was a bit different this year. The great European tech fair has always been held in Berlin, Germany, but in a much smaller and socially distant capacity. While that meant fewer brands and fewer releases, there was still a lot of technology to come out of, and that's exactly what TechRadar's Hottest at the 2020 IFA Awards is here to celebrate. We weren't at the show to throw you our usual feast of hands-on labs with all the new products, but that doesn't mean there aren't any gadgets that catch our eye. In fact, there were quite a few, and we've rounded them up for you here – these are the ones to stay on your radar and be sure to follow for months to come. Welcome to TechRadar's hottest awards at IFA 2020.

Hottest Show - Tablet

(Image credit: TCL) TCL 10 Tab max. Many budget Android tablets were launched at IFA, but perhaps the most interesting is the TCL 10 Tab Max. It has a 10,3-inch FHD+ display, a large 8.000mAh battery, and a stylus. Most intriguing are the slate eye protection modes, as the screen was designed to reduce potential damage to vision by emitting less blue light, letting you know if your face is too close to the screen, and has a few other settings as well. . We don't know the price of the tablet, but we expect it to be low, so it could be a great listing for kids and education.

Hottest Show - TV

(Image credit: Philips) Philips OLED+ 935 TV The Philips OLED+ 935 may have leaked earlier this year, but that didn't make its IFA 2020 presentation any less impressive. This flagship OLED package includes Philips' impressive P5 processor, four-sided Ambilight and even a built-in 70W Dolby Atmos soundbar from audio specialist Bowers & Wilkins, who Philips has now partnered with for a number of events. 'high-end sets. To be fair, there hasn't been as much competition as usual this year, and only Samsung introduced a new TV: the Q700T 8K QLED, available in a 55-inch size. TCL, Panasonic, and LG had nothing new on the TV front, which in a normal year would be a staggering omission. In 2020, however, the price returns to the OLED+ 935.

The hottest show: home theater

(Image credit: Samsung) Samsung Premiere The Samsung Premiere is this year's most popular home theater at IFA 2020, and for good reason. It made headlines as the world's first HDR10+ projector, beating Sony, LG or Optoma in the race to bring dynamic HDR formats, which calibrate HDR scenes with additional metadata, to cinema projectors. Home. With Samsung's Tizen operating system, typically trademarked for its smart TVs, Samsung seems to be avoiding another common hurdle in commercial projectors: core software. The new LG CineBeam HU810P deserves credit for offering an impressive 40-inch to 300-inch projection size that can be tailored to suit home and owner needs. But while the CineBeam line has been at the top of our best projector guide for quite some time, taking up the top two slots, it's in fact the newest entry from Samsung that could shake up the high-end projector market for good.

Hottest Show - Smart Speaker

(Image credit: Harman) Harman Kardon Citation 200 Harman's popular Citation line of wireless speakers has been updated to include a new portable smart speaker: the Harman Kardon Citation 200 combines Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity like the Sonos Move for stream your music from the inside out. With the Google Assistant built in, you can use it to control your smart home devices as well as play your music, and like the other speakers in the Citation range, you can set it up as part of an audio system. multi-room for tunes in every room of your home.

The Hottest in Show - Headphones

(Image credit: Philips) Philips Fidelio L3 The Philips Fidelio L3 is an attractive (and cheaper) alternative to the best headphones of 2020, the Sony WH-1000XM4. The latest in Philips' recently rebooted Fidelio line, the new headphones feature a luxurious leather design, active noise cancellation and Hi-Res Audio support, as well as an impressive 35-hour battery life.

The hottest thing about the show: wearable technology

(Image credit: Samsung) Samsung Galaxy Fit 2 Another winner from Samsung. The Galaxy Fit 2 is a streamlined fitness tracker that promises up to two weeks of battery life under normal use, which is an impressive claim, especially since the newly announced Fitbit Inspire 2 will need to be recharged after 10 days. Its streamlined design should result in a lighter weight than the original Galaxy Fit, and while we don't know too much about its specs yet, we're sure it'll offer a lot for the price, which is likely to be one. the most competitive. We cross our fingers for the onboard GPS in particular. Honorable Mentions: Honor Watch GS Pro, Honor Watch ES

Hottest Show - Computer

(Image credit: Future) MagicBook Pro (2020) Honor's MagicBook Pro isn't the first rival to the Apple MacBook Pro 16.1, but it's certainly the best we've seen yet. Honor has managed to create a very polished and balanced product that oozes quality while still achieving the kind of price point that makes you look twice at the label. The choice of components—a 6-core Ryzen, 16GB of dual-channel memory, and a fast SSD—means the engineers haven't taken turns delivering a real challenge in a really cool form factor. Small details such as the placement of the speakers or the Magiclink function are appreciated. The only notable problem has to be the location of the webcam; could be better located.

The Hottest Show - Innovation

(Image credit: Samsung) Samsung Premiere It's still Samsung! While IFA 2020 doesn't see the same level of competition as in previous years, with many brands pulling out or opting for a smaller presence, the premiere was truly a massive announcement driving projector development forward. . We haven't tested the world's first HDR10+ projector on our own yet, so we're worried about expanding its capabilities too much, but it's a first step toward a future that includes dynamic HDR formats like HDR10+ Dolby Vision. standard on projectors in the same way as their TV counterparts, and for this Samsung deserves some credit.
