Breath of the Wild 2 full title being kept under wraps to avoid spoilers

Nintendo is holding back from revealing the full official title of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 because it may reveal some of what will happen in the game. Nintendo Treehouse's Bill Trinen confirmed that the game has a different title than "Breath of the Wild 2" during a recent conversation with IGN. "As to why we're withholding the name, you'll just have to keep an eye out because obviously Zelda names are pretty important," Trinen explained. "These captions...are starting to give little clues as to what could happen." Trinen acknowledged that it's understandable that fans have started calling the game Breath of the Wild 2, saying "it will be shortened and it's only natural that people would want to find a shorthand way to define it." However, despite the widespread use of the title in the fan community, internally at Nintendo, he said that they "still call it the sequel to Breath of the Wild". Trinen hasn't indicated when Nintendo plans to reveal the full title, but it likely won't be until the game's release. While there's no exact date yet, Nintendo has said it won't be until the game's release. 'I was aiming for 2022.

What's New?

We got our last look at Breath of the Wild 2 at Nintendo E3 2021 when a new trailer dropped. Unsurprisingly, given the secrecy surrounding the title, the trailer doesn't give much away in terms of the game's story (although we did try to break it down a bit), but we did take a look.
