Boba Fett's book: Star Wars characters who could make an appearance

Boba Fett's book: Star Wars characters who could make an appearance
Spoilers for The Mandalorian season 2 follow. In traditional Lucasfilm and Disney style, Boba Fett's book is shrouded in mystery, aside from the return of the eponymous bounty hunter (played by Temuera Morrison) and his partner Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), The Mandalorian spinoff. you are playing your Sabacc cards very close to your chest. In fact, when it comes to solid information about the characters who will cross paths with the most infamous mercenary in the galaxy, even Bothan spies would tear their hair on end. But when Fett killed Bib Fortuna to gain control of Jabba the Hutt's vast criminal empire, she opened the door to potential encounters with many classic Star Wars characters, from other bounty hunters to Imperials and veterans of the world. So, assuming that if a character isn't dead, it's fair game for a return, and even those who have died could show up in flashbacks, we've put together a list of the heroes and villains from Star Wars that can show up in The Book of Boba Fett. Everything you'll read below is based on official Star Wars canon (movies, TV, books, and comics) unless otherwise noted.

Bounty hunter

"Bounty Hunters: We Don't Need Their Scum," Admiral Piett taunted an underling in The Empire Strikes Back, but it would be surprising if the Boba Fett Book shared his point of view. Even before meeting Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian, Boba Fett had a long history of working with other mercenaries. Darth Vader's famous list of Star Destroyer usual suspects would seem like a good place to start recruiting for the new show, because while it was disintegration specialist Fett who eventually captured Han Solo, it is likely that most of the other bounty hunters. involved remain in business six years later. Bossk and Dengar have a history with Fett, having worked with the aspiring bounty hunter during The Clone Wars (where Dengar was voiced by Simon Pegg). The two make brief background appearances in Return of the Jedi: Dengar in Jabba's Palace, Bossk on his sailing barge, so assuming neither was aboard the latter when it exploded on top of the Sarlacc, the two make brief background appearances in Return of the Jedi: two might have lived to fight another day. In fact, a report in SlashFilm suggests that Dengar survives until The Rise of Skywalker, which takes place three decades after The Book of Boba Fett, in the twisted form of the cyborg Rothgar Deng. IG-88, Zuckuss, and 4-LOM rounded out the famous assortment of mercenaries hired to hunt the Millennium Falcon. While it is widely believed that Boba Fett defeated IG-88 before capturing Han Solo, leaving him to be scrapped in Cloud City, the droid "brother" to the heroic IG-11 from The Mandalorian has been resurrected in the Darth comic series. Vader, where he was hired. Eliminate the right arm of the Emperor. Meanwhile, Zuckuss and his droid companion 4-LOM both appear in the Star Wars: Bounty Hunters comic after The Empire Strikes Back, so they are presumably still looking for work when Boba Fett's book comes out. Cad Bane has yet to appear in live action, but The Mandalorian didn't mind when he brought Clone Wars veterans Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze into the fold. Bane, a blue-skinned bounty hunter channeled by Clint Eastwood, was a regular threat throughout The Clone Wars, and also appeared in the spin-off The Bad Batch. He didn't make any canonical appearances beyond his recent appearance in Bad Batch, but the fact that he did appear in some graffiti in Rebels suggests he was still infamous decades later. So it wouldn't be too much for him to appear in The Book of Boba Fett, especially since Bane is a former associate of Boba's father, Jango. Unless he has some flashback scenes, one of the Bossk/Dengar gang members who won't make an appearance is Boba's former mentor, Aurra Sing. During Solo: A Star Wars Story, it is confirmed that Tobias Beckett killed her. And while The Book of Boba Fett production team is looking for a very deep dive, there's another major Star Wars mercenary who has long awaited a canonical appearance. Han Solo references "The Bounty Hunter We Met at Ord Mantell" in The Empire Strikes Back, but never appeared onscreen. The 1981 non-canon comic The Bounty Hunter of Ord Mantell told the story of Skorr and his encounter with Solo.

Other figures of the underworld

While Leia made sure that Jabba the Hutt was definitely dead, even before his sailing barge blew up, we do know that his ringmaster, Bib Fortuna, survived to take control of his former boss's crime empire. Fett murdered Fortuna in The Mandalorian season 2 finale, but who's to say there aren't other members of Jabba's entourage? The Kowakling monkey-lizard court jester Salacious B Crumb, for example, might have jumped ship after nibbling on C-3PO's eye. (That said, he will be advised to avoid Nevarro, where roasted monkey lizard is sometimes included on the menu.) Mad scientist Dr. Evazan and his partner Ponda Baba survived his Mos Eisley bar fight with Obi-Wan Kenobi, so they could still be on the run. Et Ochi, the Sith assassin who had Rey's parents (as mentioned in The Ascension of Skywalker) awaits the liens with the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn, don't the intérêts pourraient enter into conflict with Fett's own aspirations sur le black market. Any Crimson Dawn entanglement could be made even more intriguing if we saw the return of Qi'ra, the ex of Han Solo (played by Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke) who has become a major player in the organization. The Bounty Hunter War comic reveals that Qi'ra stole Fett's carbonite-coated Solo between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, eventually auctioning it off to the highest bidder. Boba Fett can still hold a grudge... And on the less messy and wicked side of the underworld is the Pirate Queen Maz Kanata, whose castle on Takodana is also a haven for the morally flexible. She even has a Mandalorian flag outside the front door, so she can accommodate some bounty hunter visitors.

rebel heroes

With Luke Skywalker busy training Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) in the ways of the Force, and Han Solo, Leia, and Chewbacca likely have their hands full raising their baby (and future Kylo Ren) Ben, it's unlikely that have a meeting. with Boba Fett, though there's likely some residual animosity on both sides. There's a bit more chance Lando Calrissian will return (who, like Fett, briefly worked for Jabba the Hutt), but we think The Book of Boba Fett will largely avoid the biggest names in Star Wars. However, other Rebel Alliance veterans are in play at this point in the timeline. Pilot Nien Nunb is a former smuggler, so he's got some experience of the underworld, while flying ace Wedge Antilles could have a few more years of action in him before he retires to a quiet life on the Rim. Away with his wife Norra Wexley, the mother of future Resistance pilot Temmin 'Snap' Wexley. We also didn't find out what happened to the old Clone Troopers Rex and Wolffe after the fall of the Empire. They would surely be intrigued to meet their bounty hunter "brother" Boba; the fact that they are all clones of Jango Fett (also played by Temuera Morrison) means that casting should be easy...

The Mandalorian Characters

With The Mandalorian Season 3 storylines to consider, the fates of Din Djarin (aka Mando) and Grogu are almost permanently separated from Boba Fett's. However, there are other characters from the parenting series that could appear in The Book of Boba Fett. Cobb Vanth, the sheriff of the city of Mos Pelgo who kept Fett's armor warm during his enforced absence, is also on Tatooine and may have a role to play in the story of how Boba escaped. Sarlacc lunch. And while Mandalorian princess Bo-Katan Kryze has little love for Fett, whom she sees as an imposter and an armor shame, there are plenty of reasons her paths could cross again. Former Imperial sharpshooter turned career criminal Mayfeld pulled off a robbery with Fett in The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 7, so it may be mutually beneficial for them to work together again. It is also likely that the Nouvelle République will keep their eyes on their criminal activities across the galaxy, although they are not surprising if the pilots / flics of space Carson Teva et Trapper Wolf met the light in the affairs of Boba Fett de From time to time.

Imperial remnants and the First Order

After the Battle of Jakku, which took place four years before the events of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, the remnants of the Empire signed a peace treaty with the New Republic. According to Chuck Wendig's Aftermath novels, Imperial bigwigs, including Admiral Rae Sloane and Commander Brendol Hux (father of General Hux), traveled to the unknown regions of the galaxy, where they later built the First Order. While the Empire as we knew it is no longer in business, however, we do know from The Mandalorian that there are significant and dangerous Imperial remnants making their presence felt across the galaxy, just like that spearheaded by the now-imprisoned Moff Gideon. . . . The question is, how far into Boba Fett's orbit will his operations go? The two parties are used to working together if their interests align, so don't be surprised to see Fett join forces with people dressed in Imperial uniforms once again.
