Christopher Nolan's mystery spy film Tenet has been delayed again after a spate of new Covid-19 cases in the United States. Tenet moved from a release date of July 31 to August 12. It was originally scheduled to release on July 17. Tenet was very much going to be the movie that revived the global box office after nearly three months of closed theaters in the US, UK and other countries. According to a report on THR, Disney's Mulan, another huge blockbuster currently scheduled for a July 24 release date, should also be pushed back again. Cinemas will reopen in July in the US and UK, but in the absence of new releases, they are likely to show old movies until new movies arrive. This includes anniversary screenings of Nolan's 2010 film Inol, as well as the Star Wars film The Empire Strikes Back. If you're afraid of having to run to the theaters to see Tenet, it's not required. "Right now, what we need is flexible, and we don't think of it as a traditional movie release," a Warner spokesperson told Deadline. "We chose to open the movie in the middle of the week to allow audiences to discover it at their own pace, and we plan to play longer, over an extended play period, beyond the norm, to develop a very different but successful exit strategy" . So don't feel like you have to go to the theater until you feel comfortable doing it.
