VoIP Keyboard Service Review | technological radar

San Francisco-based Dialpad (opens in a new tab) is one of the largest VoIP service providers in the world, but faces fierce competition in light of the growing number of companies engaging in communication platforms based on In Internet. If you're looking for a VoIP business phone system worth considering, might Dialpad VoIP services be right for your team?

In the review below, we take a close look at every aspect of this company, including their customer service, plans and pricing, top features, and more to help you decide if this is the best VoIP (Opens in a new tab) service available for you. your business.

Dialpad VoIP: plans and prices

Dialpad has a wide range of services available that are grouped into three different tiers, including video conferencing tools (opens in a new tab). Every plan gets you unlimited calls (within your country, the US, and Canada), unlimited SMS and MMS messages, and unlimited video calls, so things look pretty promising right off the bat.

The Standard plan costs €23 per user per month (or the equivalent of €15 if paid annually). Along with the top two tiers, it leverages some pretty smart AI for things like real-time transcription of calls and voicemails and even automatic post-call summaries. In terms of third-party integrations, Google Workspace is way ahead.

If you're looking to integrate with other apps like Microsoft Teams, Slack, Zendesk, and Hubspot, the Pro tier might look more appealing. It supports up to 10 desktop locations and has the important addition of 24/7 support. Expect to pay €35 per user per month (or €25 per month paid annually).

Top-tier enterprise plans push things to the max with unlimited desktop support, 100% uptime, and single sign-on (SSO) with tools like Okta. Pricing for this plan is not disclosed on the company's website as it is only offered on demand.

Regardless of plan, video calls are limited to 10 participants (Nextiva can accommodate up to 250 members), but each meeting can last up to five hours (compared to Nextiva's 45-minute limit). This is where separate "reunion" plans come into play.

The 14-day free trial is an industry standard. While we prefer tests that last a month (or 30 days), two weeks should be plenty for a dedicated IT team to test things out.

VoIP keyboard: features

Dialpad provides an excellent business VoIP service backed by many advanced features. We've outlined some of the more notable ones below.

Based on machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI), Dialpad's built-in voice intelligence features are excellent. They are designed to provide automatic call notes and transcripts, assist customer service agents in real time, and more. Dialpad isn't the only company offering AI support, so if that's important to you, it might be worth considering other offerings like RingCentral, which recently announced (opens in a new tab) a set of AI updates.

If you need to go beyond standard VoIP voice calls, Dialpad has you covered. It includes impressive audio and video conferencing features such as screen sharing, music on hold, various user controls, and more. If it's something you might need occasionally, the included features should be fine. There are a couple of specific video conferencing plans if you need to branch out: one free and one at $20 per user per month ($15 if billed annually).

Finally, Dialpad allows you to send virtual faxes directly from your desktop. You'll need to purchase a fax plugin for this, but it shouldn't be too expensive, although the price will vary depending on the plan you're using.

If you're primarily interested in phone features, it's reassuring to see that each plan offers call forwarding, three-way calling, and recording features. Queues are also standard on all but the cheapest plans.

Dialpad VoIP: interface and use

We tested Dialpad's Windows VoIP desktop and web apps and were very impressed.

For starters, the web app is simple and intuitive, if a bit basic. It allows you to make calls, send messages, listen to voicemail and recorded calls, and manage your contacts. The Windows app is similar, but with even more features. It's quite common for the web app to have more limited functionality, so don't let the dial pad put you off. Dedicated desktop clients will almost always provide the best experience.

And finally, the web-based dashboard allows you to view analytics, manage program settings, and configure your business phone system with many other features included.

VoIP keyboard: support

When you are setting up your Dialpad account, it is likely that you will have some problems or need advice on something. If so, you can speak to the customer service team via phone, live chat, or online ticket submission. There's also an online forum where you can ask questions and look up past conversations.

On top of that, Dialpad has a comprehensive help center with hundreds of articles, guides, video tutorials, and other self-help resources. Use the search bar at the top of the screen to find relevant information or simply browse by category.

The Pro and Enterprise plans get 24/7 support, but the standard 24/5 support on the Standard plans should be fine for smaller businesses that probably won't have problems weekends.

VoIP keyboard: security

It's always nice to see transparency and openness around a company's security measures, and Dialpad excels here. It provides clear insight into the tools you use to keep your personal information and all sensitive data safe at all times, and it does it well.

On the simple end of the spectrum, it includes tools that let you set clear user permissions and access controls, manage which users have access to which integrations and features, and make sure everything works as it should.

Additionally, all communications are fully encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) technology and 256-bit AES security. Additionally, all data is encrypted at rest, greatly reducing the risk of hacking or data breaches.

All things considered, Dialpad's security features are excellent.

Competition

Dialpad offers a great business VoIP service across the board, but there are plenty of other providers worth considering.

For example, the 8x8 X series (opens in a new tab) is a great option for those on a tight budget. It's similarly priced at €15 per user per month, and all plans are pretty well-equipped, including the most basic ones.

Another decent option is Aircall(Opens in a new tab), which focuses on providing high-quality VoIP services along with a host of CRM integrations, all in a neat and easy-to-use package. It's a bit more expensive, but still offers a lot to like.

final verdict

Dialpad impressed as soon as we first landed on its website, and nothing changed during our review. Its included features are great, its services are backed by powerful security integrations, and there are versatile subscription options for businesses of all shapes and sizes.

Also, their prices are quite competitive and most plans come with a 14-day free trial. Ultimately, we recommend signing up for the trial version and giving the platform a try if you are looking for a reliable and feature-rich VoIP service provider.
