Stuck on Cyberpunk 2077 due to a new bug? CD Projekt Red might have a solution for you

After this weekend's Cyberpunk 2077 1.1 patch helped address a number of stability issues, players have now started reporting that the main plot line has been broken, particularly around the quest. According to these players on Reddit and later confirmed by game developer CD Projekt Red, the quest ends when V receives a holocall from Takemura... who just looks at you and says nothing. If this happens to him, he might feel that he is stuck, but according to CD Projekt Red, there are some quick solutions that he can use to fix the error while he waits for a correct solution. Here's how to unlock the game:

  • Load a saved game before Takemura and V leave Wakako's office.
  • Immediately end the conversation with Takemura at the desk.
  • Immediately after the end of the conversation and when the mission has been updated, skip 11pm
  • See if the holocall goes off and begins the dialogue with Takemura.
  • Two steps forward, one step back

The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was a disaster. In fact, it was so bad that it led to a class action lawsuit against the publisher and caused a large number of players to request a refund on all the platforms the game is available on. Today's new problem is certainly annoying, but it's also pretty harmless, and with the solution above, hopefully it's harmless. You can't really blame the studio for implementing a fix they think would improve stability only to find a new glitch in the game; ask any coder and they'll tell you that fixing one bug usually gets two more on their site. The developer says that it will be working on another patch, version 1.2, and that it will squash more bugs in the near future as they emerge. Via Eurogamer
