Still in mourning Silent Hill: PT? A brand causes more horror Konami is on the way

It's been a long time since we've seen a new Silent Hill game. If we get a taste of Konami's horror in 2014, with Silent Hill: PT, no Silent Hill base game has been released since 2012, but it seems like it's all about changing.

Last July, Konami Entertainment filed a trademark with the Canadian government for Silent Hill, stating that the trademark would be for "video games, computer game services" (via Game Rant).

The full description of the service indicates that the brand will be used to:

"Provision of online video games; Provision of online computer games; Provision of information in the field of video games; Provision of information in the field of computer games; Organization, organization and conducting of video game competitions, organization, organization and holding of video game contests ".

This brand repository suggests that we could see more Silent Hill games in the future, which isn't necessarily surprising given the latest resurgence of reboots and remasters.

Konami may choose to follow in Capcom's footsteps by taking over one of the most popular Silent Hill games, such as Silent Hill 2, or even remastering some of its titles. However, it is also possible that the company decides to give the franchise a modern reboot.

The mention of competitions suggests that the latter possibility is conceivable because, to date, Silent Hill did not have a competitive or multiplayer aspect that could justify competitions.

However, it should be noted that Konami could simply drop the mark for Silent Hill to remain in the family because the company did not reveal that it was working on something related to Silent Hill.
