Let's start with the most popular Star Wars series in recent times. Yes, The Mandalorian season 3 release is getting closer, and we finally know when he'll be with us.

As announced on the official Star Wars Twitter account (opens in a new tab), the hit Disney Plus show will return to our screens in February 2023. That goes beyond Giancarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon in the series, fans recently said. Still, it's nice to know that the countdown is really on for the show's return.

However, Star Wars Celebration attendees weren't just treated to this announcement. Audiences also got their first taste of the next episode of The Mandalorian, with a sizzling reel that gave us a taste of what's to come.

By those present, there were plenty of stunning shots and visuals to take in, but it was the clues to how the plot evolved in Season 3 that was most intriguing.

The footage again showed Mando meeting The Armorer, who told him that "redemption is no longer possible" after the latter discovered that the former had removed his helmet (repeatedly) in previous seasons. Meanwhile, Mando tells Grogu that the duo are heading to Mandalore, the homeworld of all Mandalorians, so that he can be forgiven for his transgressions.

Other blink-and-you'll-miss-it scenes involved Mando and Grogu's reunion with Greef Karga, who seems to have settled into a new (and well-paying, according to his attire) profession, and a tense verbal confrontation with Bo. -Katan, another Mandalorian warrior fans will remember from the second season of the show and the animated series The Clone Wars. There were plenty of action-packed moments, too, before Bo-Katan ominously said to Grogu, "Do you think your father was the only Mandalorian?" Color us excited.

Andor Season 1 Gets Trailer And Release Date Revealed

Andor, the Star Wars prequel series starring Diego Luna's Rebellion hero in Rogue One, will officially launch on Disney Plus on August 31.

The series, which will receive a two-episode premiere (opens in a new tab) on that date, is set five years before Luna teams up with Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso to steal the Death Star plans with the in order to help the rebellion fight against the Galactic Empire. She expects this to be a gritty street-level affair in the same way as Rogue One.

And it seems to be, judging by the first trailer for the series, which accompanied the release date announcement. You can see the first images from the upcoming series above, which is also the first Star Wars TV series not to use Industrial Light and Magic's (aka The Volume) StageCraft technology. Instead, the show was set in real-life locations to retain that gritty, criminal underworld style that Rogue One is known for.

Andor season 1 will consist of 12 episodes, although it is unclear if the series will receive two-episode releases over the course of six weeks or weekly releases after its premiere date. Oh, and why do we say that it is the first season of the show? Because a second installment, which also includes 12 episodes, is already in development and will begin filming in November, according to Variety (opens in a new tab).

It was a nice surprise. Skeleton Crew, a new Star Wars TV series, is coming to Disney Plus in 2023, starring none other than Marvel movie and Fantastic Beasts actor Jude Law. He talks about landing a role in three of the greatest franchises of all time.

Not much is known about the Skeleton Crew, but we do have some information about their team behind the scenes and what the show will entail.

Skeleton Crew is the official name of the series developed by Jon Watts (the MCU Spider-Man trilogy) and Christopher Ford (Chaos Walking), which previously had the working title Grammar Rodeo (an amusing nod to one of the many episodes of The Spider-Man). Simpson). . Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are also on board as executive producers along with Watts, which isn't surprising given that this duo single-handedly (or should it be two?) handled the production of the burgeoning Star Wars TV-specific content.

According to Filoni, Skeleton Crew is an "upcoming live-action series starring kids, but it's just as much for kids as The Clone Wars." Expect it to contain mature concepts and themes that may not be suitable for children of a certain age, then.

According to IGN (opens in a new tab), the Skeleton Crew story will follow "a group of 10-year-old kids from a small planet who get lost in this galaxy far, far away and must try to find their way back to home. ". The series also takes place after Return of the Jedi, aka Star Wars Episode VI, so it will be placed in the main Star Wars timeline alongside The Mandalorian and Ahsoka Tano's upcoming live-action broadcast. The Hollywood Reporter (opens in a new tab) also claims that filming will begin this summer and Skeleton Crew will have the feel of an Amblin Entertainment production from the 1980s, like The Goonies or ET.

Granted, these next two announcements aren't Star Wars-centric. But, since Lucasfilm was the company that originally brought them to the big screen, it makes sense that they'd be covered to some degree during Star Wars Celebration.
