Spider-Man: Next No Way Home trailer arrives this week, but there's a catch

Finally, after weeks of rumors about the release date, the second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home is coming this week, but some of us may have to wait to see it.

During the weekend of November 13-14, Sony Pictures revealed that impatient fans will be able to see the next trailer for the MCU movie on Tuesday, November 16. Well that's if you're one of the lucky few to get a ticket to a Los Angeles trailer fan event.

As watched by multiple Redditors this past weekend, and as reported by reporters, including ComicBook.com's Brandon Davis, Sony is hosting a trailer launch event in Los Angeles on November 16. And this is where the second trailer for No Way Home will receive its world premiere.

The event was supposed to take place at the Regal Sherman Oaks, but the demand for tickets has been so high that it will now take place in a much larger theater. However, no details on where this will take place were revealed.

The No Way Home trailer event will be full of "big surprises," according to Sony's announcement. Will we finally get confirmation that Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Matt Murdock are taking part in the third MCU outing of Spider-Man? According to a Twitter leaker, Maguire and Garfield, as well as current webslinger Tom Holland, are currently in Los Angeles. Place your bets on the trio appearing in the event now, then.

The leaks don't end there either. According to other alleged insider information, as seen on Reddit, the trailer launch event will last less than 10 minutes. Commenters on the linked Reddit thread seem to think that the trailer (which is supposed to have a three minute runtime) will show up first. After that, big reveals will be made, before an exclusive clip from the movie can be shown to attendees.

If the second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home is only shown to those at the fan event, when can the rest of us expect to see it?

We wouldn't be surprised if the second trailer for No Way Home went online in the early hours of Wednesday, November 17.

Sony has done this kind of thing before. The studio released the first preview of the film to CinemaCon attendees on August 23, before releasing it online to the public 24 hours later.

Sony is also expected to follow a similar plan for the film's second teaser. We believe that those who attend the trailer launch event will have little time to publicize it on social media after viewing it. Sony will then post the trailer on YouTube and its other social media channels for the rest of us to see over and over again.

The fan event is supposed to start at 5:00 pm PDT, or 8:00 pm EDT, as well as 1:00 am GMT and 6:30 am IST on Wednesday, November 17. After the event is over, we hope the trailer will be released around the world for all to see. This is the most anticipated Marvel Phase 4 project of the year, so Sony (and Marvel) won't want to keep the rest of us waiting. Well, more than they did due to apparent disagreements over which trailer to release, anyway.

So hopefully the second trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home will be with us on November 17. It will only be a month before the movie hits theaters exclusively, so we need some new footage. That, and the confirmation of some long-standing rumors, just so we can put the pre-release to bed. You know, unless the trailer leaks online ahead of time like the premiere, in which case we can put them to rest even earlier.

Either way, expect the next No Way Home trailer to smash the internet. Again.
