Slack Is Low - Here's What You Need To Know

Customers are reporting issues with the popular collaboration tool Slack, preventing many users from logging into the client, sending messages, and sharing files. Users are also reporting a strange bug that pushes old Slack posts, sometimes from years past, to the top, before suddenly disappearing again. Others, meanwhile, said that the usernames had disappeared from the threads. According to the Slack status page, the outage was first reported at 6:00am ET / 11:00am BST and mainly affects users in the UK and Western Europe.

Slow failure

Slack acknowledged and identified the issue and was working hard to restore service to its users. "Some customers are having issues with files, messages, and logging into Slack. We're investigating and will have more information to share," the company wrote. "We are having isolated issues sending messages and files to users in Europe." All other Slack services, including notifications, calls, search, and workplace management, are supposed to be fully operational. Slack did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Slack support team seems to provide an update roughly every 30 minutes. This story will be updated as more details emerge.
