Sky Sports and BT Sport reveal what restarting the Premier League means for their bills
The Premier League is finally back on our screens from Wednesday June 17, and whether you like football or not, it also means your Sky Sports and BT Sport bills back. But how will it work and how much will you have to pay? The two broadcasting giants have now announced their different approaches to restarting subscriber payments, so we've explained below how this will work for Sky Sports and BT Sport. We're still clarifying what it means for those who subscribe via Virgin Media and TalkTalk, and will update this page when we hear back, but for now, here's what Sky Sports and BT Sport have said on how billing will change for reflect the return of the Premier League.

Sky Sports subscribers

If you suspended your Sky Sports account when the action stopped due to the global pandemic, you can expect some fees to reappear on your June bill. The good news is that Sky won't be billing for the entire month. Although billing will resume in June for Premier League and Sky Sports Golf subscribers (whether you're on Complete Sky Sports, single-channel packages or two- and three-channel packages), Sky says "you won't be billed for Sports for days before June 19, 2020." Although the Premier League will restart on June 17 with two games postponed, the full first round of games won't start until the weekend of June 19. Sky Sports will broadcast 64 of the remaining 92 Premier League games, and 39 of them will be exclusive, with 25 more available on its free "Pick" channel. While football and golf fans will start paying for their Sky Sports subscriptions from mid-June, this is not the case for those who have signed up for the exclusive Sky Sports F1 package. If that's you, Sky says "you won't be billed until the first live Grand Prix of 2020."

BT Sport subscribers

Rather than allow subscribers to suspend payments during the early stages of the global pandemic, BT Sport has used a bill credit system. This allowed him to claim a two-month bill credit or donate the NHS equivalent. With the Premier League resuming mid-month on June 17, BT Sport says it will "offer customers additional bill credit up to 50% of their monthly BT Sport subscription." How is it going to work? If you've already requested a bill credit in the past, BT Sport says "you don't have to do anything: we'll automatically apply another credit to the value of 50% of your monthly BT Sport subscription." And the same goes for those who have chosen to donate their credit to the NHS: BT Sport says it will "automatically donate this extra credit to NHS Charities Together's Covid-19 Urgent Appeal on behalf of customers who have chosen to donate their credit." If you haven't requested a bill credit yet but would like to take advantage of the 50% credit in June, you can request one from June 1 on the BT Sport support page. Subscribe to BT Sport via Sky? Sky says billing for BT Sport via Sky will resume in June and, like Sky Sports subscribers, "you won't be billed for any days until June 19, 2020".
